Nightwater Guide

About Nightwater Guide

What this site is

Nightwater Guide (nightwater.org) is an independent, reader-supported reference for Nightwater: getting-started help, reference tables, guides to the minigames and collectibles, a patch tracker, a boon and memory checklist, analysis pieces built from Steam reviews and forum threads, and a Chinese edition. The aim is that a question typed into a search engine lands on a direct, dated, sourced answer.

What is original here

The facts come from public sources, but the work on top of them is this site's own. Numbers are cross-checked between the store page, the developer's posts and player threads, and a value that appears in only one place is marked as such. Every article lists the specific posts and threads it draws on, not just a link to Steam. Each page carries its own published and last-updated dates, and the patch tracker shows what every update changed and which pages it touched. The analysis pages count what reviewers and forum posters actually say instead of summarising a store blurb. The Chinese edition is written separately for Chinese-speaking players rather than machine-translated.

Who runs it

Nightwater Guide is edited by Rowan Vale. Rowan Vale edits Nightwater Guide: cross-checks the numbers between the Steam store page, the developer's announcements and player threads, records what each patch changed and which pages it touched, and keeps the Chinese edition in step with the English one. Rowan is not affiliated with Studio Ashty or Irox Games.

How pages are made

Every page starts from public sources: the Steam store page, the developer's announcements, Steam community guides and forum threads. The editor extracts the facts, cross-checks numbers between sources, and reviews every page by hand before it goes live; drafting uses writing tools, the checking does not. Where sources disagree or the game has changed since, the page says so instead of guessing.

Independence

This is not the developer's site. Nightwater is made by Studio Ashty and published by Studio Ashty, Irox Games. Nothing here speaks for them, and the official Steam page and developer channels remain the source of truth. Game builds change and pages may lag behind.

What this site does not do

It does not present first-hand testing. A fix or workaround appears only when a developer post or a player thread describes it; when the only source is a single forum report, the page says so. Numbers such as unlock thresholds and prices are copied from the source, not estimated. There is no sponsored content, no affiliate link and no paid placement. The only advertising is the Google AdSense units, which are marked as ads.

How pages are kept current

Patch notes are checked after each developer announcement on Steam, and the guide pages the patch touches are revised in the same pass. Every article shows its own published and last-updated dates, and the last-updated date changes only when the text on that page changes, not when the site is rebuilt. Each article ends with a list of the specific posts and threads it draws on, so a reader can check the original wording.
